About This Site
Privacy Policy
Last updated September 17, 2026.
MilitaryAntiqueCollector.com is the online archive of Military Antique Collector magazine. Every article can be read without an account, a password, or a purchase. This page explains, in plain terms, what information changes hands when you visit and who handles it.
Who runs this site
The site and the magazine are published by Historical Publications LLC of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Questions about this policy can be sent to info@historicalpublicationsllc.com.
What we do not collect
- No registration, login, or reader accounts.
- No payment or credit-card information. Subscriptions, gift subscriptions, and printed back issues are ordered through SimpleCirc, our circulation service, which is a separate website with its own privacy policy.
- No Google Analytics and no advertising trackers. Visits are counted withCloudflare Web Analytics, which reports page views and page loading speed as site-wide totals and builds no profile of individual readers. Cloudflare states that this service does not use cookies. SeeCloudflare’s privacy policy.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade information about our readers to anyone.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives your IP address and browser details with each request so it can deliver the page and turn away automated abuse. Cloudflare's own dashboard gives us overall traffic totals from that routine request information; it does not identify individual readers to us. If Cloudflare asks your browser to pass a quick security check, it may set a short-lived cookie recording that you passed. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Banner advertisements
The banners on these pages are served by ArtifactSearch.com, a service of Historical Publications LLC, not by an outside ad network. When a banner is shown or clicked, ArtifactSearch records which banner it was, that it appeared on Military Antique Collector, the time, and your browser's user-agent line (for example, "Chrome on a Mac") so automated traffic can be screened out. Your IP address is used only to limit abusive repeat requests and is not stored. The banners set no cookies and build no advertising profile. To choose which banner to show, the page also tells ArtifactSearch what kind of page it is (for example, the home page or an article) and whether it is being viewed on a phone or a computer. None of this identifies you. Clicking one takes you to the advertiser's own website, which has its own privacy practices.
Newsletter sign-up
Near the bottom of each page is an optional sign-up box for the Historical Publications newsletter. If you fill it in, your name and email address go to Constant Contact, the service that sends the newsletter, and are used only to send it. The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which checks that a real person is signing up; Google handles that check under its privacy policy and terms. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us by email to remove you. We never share the list.
Email and calls
If you write or call us, about a subscription, an order, advertising, or an article, your contact details and message are used to answer you and for nothing else. They are not added to a mailing list.
Search, sharing, and outside links
- Site search. The archive search runs inside your own browser, so the words you search for are not sent to us or to anyone else.
- Share buttons. The Facebook, X, and Email buttons are plain links. Nothing is sent to those companies unless you click one.
- Back issues. The list of printed back issues is loaded from our publisher's site, historicalpublicationsllc.com; ordering takes place on SimpleCirc.
- Outside links. Links to Civil War News on Facebook, SimpleCirc, ArtifactSearch, advertisers, and other sites take you off MilitaryAntiqueCollector.com. Those sites follow their own privacy policies.
Cookies
The site's own pages set no cookies. The only cookies you may receive come from Constant Contact and Google reCAPTCHA through the newsletter form and, if Cloudflare runs a security check, the short-lived Cloudflare cookie described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and every article will still be readable.
Children
This site is written for collectors, historians, and researchers. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If the site's practices change, this page will be updated and the date at the top revised.
